Joseph Stannard's Horror Portal 23/12/2010: Graham Reznick

Although the most notorious genre film of 2010 was undoubtedly Tom Six’s The Human Centipede, elsewhere there appears to be a quiet resurgence of filmmakers whose approach to horror is reliant more on atmosphere and tension than sadism and shock tactics.
Brooklyn-based Graham Reznick is one such savant, as his psychedelic debut feature I Can See You and its accompanying 3D short The Viewer illustrate. In addition to his directorial talents, Reznick is an accomplished sound designer who lent his considerable skills to fellow wunderkind Ti West’s 2009 indie horror hit The House Of The Devil. As one might expect, Reznick’s films owe a great deal of their impact to the expert manipulation of sound and the careful incorporation of original music, such as that of composer Jeff Grace in I Can See You.
