CTM 2013: Heatsick Q&A

February 2013

Steven Warwick, discusses self-replication, Joe Jones's self playing instruments, the films of Fred Halsted and unmanned aircraft, as part of The Wire's Q&As at the 2013 edition of CTM festival.

Listen to Steven Warwick in conversation with The Wire's online editor Jennifer Lucy Allan.

As Heatsick, Warwick has released records on Pan, Rush Hour, Cocktail D'amore, and his own Alcoholic Narcolepsy label. His records have been remixed by Legowelt, Willie Burns and Mark Fell, among others.

Recently he's been playing a three hour live Casio improvisation called Extended Play, based around his Deviation EP. The setup involves a light grid (which also gets very hot), Warwick, plus the recent addition of perfume sprayed into the crowd. Extended Play was first performed at Unsound festival in Poland last year, and staged more recently at Berlin's Berghain for CTM.
