Electrospective

Manchester District Music Archive (www.mdmarchive.co.uk ) will put on a one-off event to celebrate Manchester’s Electro-Funk and B Boy heritage on Saturday 30 August. Through a mixture of talks, Q & As, screenings and dancing, the event will attempt to tell the story of the city’s early ‘80s Electro-Funk scene and its subsequent developments as the decade unfolded. The event was inspired by Tim ‘Bones’ Forde’s documentary film, The Birth Of British B-Boys, which will be shown in full as a main feature of the event. Hosted by Greg Wilson, ‘Electrospective’ welcomes some of the great DJ’s of Pre-Rave Manchester - Hewan Clarke, Colin Curtis, Chad Jackson and Mike Shaft. Saturday 30 August, 4pm talks, screenings and dance (free admission); 10pm-3am club night (tickets £6). Order tickets: electrospective@hotmail.com.
