Two weeks ago we published an excerpt of forthcoming documentary We Don't Care About Music Anyways, which looks at Tokyo's underground music scene. Now there's another one on the way from Good Charamel Records. Live From Tokyo is directed by American filmmaker Lewis Rapkin, and looks at the effect of global information networks and the digital paradigm shift on Japanese underground music creation. Featured in the documentary are Tenniscoats, Nissennenmondai, Boredoms members and others.
Confirmed screening dates are as follows: Philadelphia Japan Arts Matsuri (7 July), New York Big Screen Project (21 July), Netherlands Camera Japan Film Festival (21 September–2 October). Watch the trailer below:
