Basic.fm, the broadcast project of the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle Upon Tyne, is seeking new work to host online as part of a series starting in April this year. Submissions of sound art, spoken word, field recordings and artist interviews are accepted, in the field of broadcast art, sound and independent culture. (Basic.fm stands for broadcast art, sound and independent culture.)
New and existing works are eligible for submission. Entries must include title and description of the piece, plus an example of past works, CV and contact details. Deadline for submissions at firstname.lastname@example.org is 20 February 5pm GMT. Full details here.
For January the site is carrying "Aprosodia" by Ed Carter, and starting in March (as part of AV Festival) Vicki Bennett will be hosting Radio Boredcast – a month long broadcast of specially curated shows and work made by guest artists, around the theme As Slow As Possible.
