Portishead's Adrian Utley commissioned for Sonic Journeys

Portishead member Adrian Utley has been commissioned to compose a "Sonic Journey" by SoundUK and The National Trust. Previous Sonic Journeys have been recorded by Shackleton & Vengeance Tenfold, Micachu and Will Gregory of Goldfrapp.

In it, Utley journeys around The National Trust’s Croft Castle in Herefordshire, taking a route through the grounds to the sites of some of its ancient trees. The piece will come with a route map for listeners to retrace Utleys steps, and a video has been shot by John Minton.

From 29 June to 31 October all Sonic Journeys (audio and videos) will be available to download, and Utley's Sonic Journey #4 will be available to download onto a smartphone for 12 months from 15 October. Sonic Journeys is being absorbed into The Space for this next release, and will be available there. More details on Sonic Journeys here.
