Return Of The Ranters is the previously unreleased album from the London based collective Normil Hawaiians. Originally written and recorded in 1985, the album is finally released this month by Upset The Rhythm.

The Normil Hawaiians formed in the early 1980s in Brixton, London. The group on this record are Guy Smith, Simon Marchant, Alun ‘Wilf’ Williams, Noel Blanden and Jimmy Miller. After they recorded back in 1985 at Dave Anderson’s Foel studio in Wales, the group soon drifted apart – Guy, Jimmy and Wilf were part of the squatting community in South London, while Simon and Noel relocated their families to Kent. As a result the album never came out.

Return Of The Ranters will now be released by Upset The Rhythm on 24 October. And there are plans to reissue their previously released albums, More Wealth Than Money (1982) and What’s Going On? (1984), in 2016. Normil Hawaiians will reform for a performance at London’s The Lexington on 24 October.
