Track 17

"I sing in a language which I invented myself, for my own music." Ghédalia Tazartès at home in Paris, July 2008.

"Assassins 2"

From Les Danseurs De La Pluie

For more than three decades, the music of Ghédalia Tazartès has juxtaposed pan-global vocals with synthesizer improvisations, drones, loops, found sound cut-ups and pounding percussion in outrageous jump-cutting montages. Often cacophonous, typically bewildering and rich in paradox, the music of this unique French artist blurs genres and conflates styles, creating a complex yet primitive musical form that is utterly sui generis.

"Assassins 2" was recorded in Paris in 1977 (the year Tazartès recorded his first release, Diasporas) and was previously only available on a 3" CD, or as a bonus disc within the Les Danseurs De La Pluie box set, both issued by the Italian Alga Marghen label.
