The Automatics Group write:
"A Sample Library is a collection of recorded musical sounds
organised into a coherent digital file format of sound recordings
for the intended use of music composers, arrangers, performers and
producers to use as imitative, effect, or synthetic sound sources
for live or recorded musical works. The VCS 3 (or VCS3; an
initialism for Voltage Controlled Studio with 3 oscillators) is a
portable analogue synthesiser with a flexible semi-modular voice
architecture, manufactured by Electronic Music Studios (London)
Limited (EMS) in 1969."
