Artist statement:

"Steel Tide" is the opening track from the recently released (2012) CD on Monotype, Fluoresce by SPILL, the duo of Magda Mayas and Tony Buck. It features both the extended piano and clavinet work of Mayas overlaid with the drums, bells and percussion of Buck.

Magda Mayas lives in Berlin and is part of the active improvised music scene in Europe, playing in various ensemble and projects, including duos with Buck, Christine Abdelnour and Anthea Caddy and the trio Great Waitress.

Tony Buck is an Australian percussionist living in Berlin and involved in many and various musical settings. Probably best known as a member of the trio The Necks, as well as long standing projects with NYC based GLACIAL (Lee Ranaldo, David Watson) and TRIO AUS (Johannes Bauer, Clayton Thomas) and his own band TRANSMIT.
