Artist statement:

We are alone (or so we have tricked ourselves into believing) - solipsistic islands adrift in an ocean of dream. Our bodies are soft, unmoored vessels, vehicles built from flesh, and this idea - this uneasy notion - fills us with such disquiet - with wild horror instead of wonder - that we prefer to inhabit a hollow dream instead, to sleepwalk rather than soar. What fairytale were we told that triggered our retreat? What lie did we read that led us blindly into our REMsleep cage? What falsehood prefigured our loss of faith? What unkind words made us wither and turn away? “Asleep, we are nothing; awake, we are one.”

“Dreamcage No 2” is a work-in-progress, a sketch, a semi-lucid dream. An edited, fully-realised version (with special guest voice-artist Colleen Nika) will appear later in the year on the Feral Tapes cassette-only album Dreamware Reboot.
