"Losing"
previously unreleased
Nate Wooley grew up in Clatskanie, Oregon. Since moving to New
York in 2001, he's become part of a movement to redefine the
trumpet's technique and role through his improvisational work with
Paul Lytton, Joe Morris, Anthony Braxton, and others and his
compositions like the "105" trumpet drone piece, "The Almond" and
his Syllables series of solo works based on the physical
positioning of phoneme production.
"Losing" is an excerpt from a live performance on trumpet and
amplifier in Brooklyn, recorded in 2012 by Jeremiah Cymerman. It is
dedicated to the memory of Laurie Frink.
