The Alabama-born multimedia artist and musician says:

"“Here I Stand Knocking at Your Door” is me trying to bring a message. For the last 35 years I’ve been working so hard on my art, and a lot of doors have been closed to my sort of art because of administrations. I have something to bring you but you won’t even answer the door to let me in."
