A previously unreleased track from the Oakland-based musician Madalyn Merkey. Talking about "Cooper 1" Merkey states:

"This track was composed for a girl in Cyprus who wrote me asking for an hour of sounds relating to her island home. My focus was to compose quickly and form resolutions to sound inquiries through rapid audio sketches.
For me the music investigates the role of free nature in the medium, where complex surprises and uncertain outcomes test genius and embrace less than perfect moments alike.
The sound source is primarily computer generated FM synthesis and new programs from my performance practice. This track accentuates my love of high frequencies, glissandi and pulses in a balance of control and chaos."
