"Remove Curses Wood Futon Frame New World Order"

Below The Radar exclusive

Radionics Radio is an ongoing project by Daniel Wilson, Sound and Music’s composer-in-residence at Resonance 104.4FM.

Talking about this project, Wilson explains:

In the late 1940s, a laboratory in Oxford called Delawarr Laboratories experimented with the idea that thoughts (specifically, thoughts relating to physiological conditions) could be represented as chords of electronic audio frequencies, selected by a form of mental intuition. Delawarr Laboratories were concerned with finding a physical basis for the fringe science of radionics - a form of mental dowsing using symbolic apparatus - and in doing so, unwittingly preempted long-durational electronic music.

The Radionics Radio project is an attempt to bridge the gap between experimental music and Delawarr’s sound-orientated radionics experiments. The website radionicsradio.co.uk hosts a recreation of a Delawarr diagnostic oscillator where thoughts can be radionically transduced into a list of frequencies. Listeners can submit any thoughts - emotions, wishes, manifestation requests, abstract concepts, codes, messages, secrets, self-promotion, etc. In this exclusive recording, three thought-frequency clusters are merged together, ‘Wood Futon Frame’, ‘New World Order’, and a rhythmically rendered ‘Remove Curses’.
