The Host is a new project of Barry Lynn, the producer from Northern Ireland who, under his Boxcutter alias, operates within the sphere of dubstep. About The Host, Barry says: ““Open Air Tape Trance” is a heavily tape-flanged, unreleased companion track to “Sunset Induction”, the central track on the Esalen Lectures record. Inspired by think tanks and flotation tanks, psychological research, 2012 mythology, 1960s social planning, stoned apes, elite transhumanism, and the counterculture, Esalen Lectures soundtracks an imaginary trip to a NorCal psychedelic retreat and tells a weird tale of induction, hypnosis and psychic disturbance.”
