Track 11

"Koffie & Ambacht"
Forthcoming
Louise Landes Levi is a writer and musician who plays the sarangi. She studied at the University of California and played with Daniel Moore’s early fusion orchestra The Floating Lotus Magic Opera company, before travelling east to study music. She has released a tape called City Of Delirium (2011) and an LP with Hilary Jeffery, From The Ming Oracle (2014), on Sloow Tapes. This unreleased track is an excerpt taken from forthcoming tape on Sloow Tapes recorded during a June 2015 performance at Koffie & Ambacht, Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. The gig featured Levi playing with HUM°° (Bart 'Sloow' De Paepe (guitar) and Anne Collet (accordeon, percussion).
About Levi, Sloow Tapes say: “In a strange twist of fate, much of Ms Levi’s own work was thrown away by a concierge (or divine agent) in Paris, 1977. Henri Michaux, known for his eremitism and anonymity, nurtured our author through this crisis. A generous selection of LLL’s translation from HM, plus an essay on her meeting with him can be found online at milkmag.org.”
