Yama Warashi is Bristol based Japanese artist Yoshino Shigihara’s solo project. The group’s dreamy evocative sound is inspired by the Japanese folk dance form Bon Odori, free jazz, African music and electric psychedelia. Accompanied by saxophone, guitar and bass, Yoshino adds keyboard and percussion, and sings songs in her mother tongue about mycelium, nuclear power and broken O.
