Rob Magill is from a small Californian town called Ojai, where he has promoted concerts by musicians such as Eugene Chadbourne, Peter Brötzmann, Marshall Trammell, Steve Noble, Dave Bixby, Martin Kuchen and more. He started making albums in 2010 and has since gone on to record more than 50. The track “Romance” was inspired by the wedding of his old friend and frequent musical partner Alex Gray. Magill recorded it with Marshall Trammmell in Oakland, California, over two weeks in October 2015 while finishing another album. The melody was based on the calmness Gray acquired after meeting his soon to be wife, says Magill, who performed the song solo at the couple’s wedding reception.
