"Eidesis"
From Alea
The chink of volcanic stones recorded on mobile phone at Oregon’s Lava Lands, 1920s guitars and mangled electronics form the instrumentation of Alea, the latest album from IXTAB. This Anglo-US collaboration between Gary James Geiler (Ovis Aurum) and Tim Matts (Blood Room, co-founder of Seagrave Records) was recorded between Austin, Texas, and Dartmoor, UK, combining the synthetic with the natural. Field recordings taken at the Cobá pyramid sit alongside circuit bent Casio keyboards and the persistent beat of industrial techno.
