Woo is the longstanding project of British brothers Clive and Mark Ives, who’ve been recording together since the 1970s. Over that time they have developed their own sound combining acoustic instrumentation (primarily guitar and clarinet) and electronics in a way that reflects the past, present and future. Touching upon jazz, psychedelic, ambient and folk/pop idioms, their work has drawn comparisons to Durutti Column, Cluster and Jon Hassell, though their compositions are instantly recognisable. Labels such as Drag City, Emotional Rescue and Palto Flats have begun to unearth Woo's vast discography in recent years.
