“Marimba Moon” was recorded in one take by G Bop Orchestra in the loading bay at Temple Works, Leeds. It’s one of three non studio based recording sessions they undertook in summer 2014, which moved from outside (the mobile gardeners park at Elephant And Castle, London), to inside (the dentist, 33 Chatsworth Road, London), via somewhere in between that was this track’s loading bay. The line-up, recorded by Kyle Molleson and Laurie Johnson, features Rita Oldenbourg on bass drum, Greta Eacott on marimba, Alex De Little on trombone, and Harry Burgess on low tom.
