Sulk is London based producer Lauren Duffus’s debut EP, released by South London DJs and events organisers Body Motion. “In terms of personal influences,” says Duffus, “the feel of my music definitely reflects my very current process of grieving for my dad who passed away in 2018. It feels pretentious to say this but until now the way I processed grief was super messy, all over the place and self-destructive and while I still may be there, making music became something so therapeutic – it’s impossible to stress just how therapeutic! The process of making my songs often involves lots of tears and deep feelings of anxiety and sadness that are often suddenly triggered by certain chords or moments I come across by chance when making the compositions.”
