Toru is an instrumental trio formed in 2019 by Nicolas Brisset, Héloïse Francesconi and Arthur Arsenne. While initially labeled free noise following the release of their debut album, the trio quickly expanded its sonic identity, weaving together elements of experimental metal, noise and electroacoustic music. In 2023, Toru recorded Velours Dévorant with Nicolas Dick (Kill The Thrill). The album was released in January 2025 across multiple labels: WV Sorcerer Production (FR & China), Badaddy Records (NL), Cruel Nature Records (UK), Araki Records (FR), AktiverAufstand In Plastik (DE) and Day Off Records (FR). The band has also released two split releases: a cassette with Teufelskeller (RU) in 2024 and a vinyl LP with Brutalism (Terence Hannum, US) in May 2025, both on Arsenic Solaris (FR).
