Takara, is a São Paulo-based percussionist, trumpeter and electronic music producer that currently plays drums for bands like Hurtmold and São Paulo Underground. Since his debut as a solo artist, a self-titled album from 2004, he’s been consistently releasing material, which gives clear tones to his maturation as a composer and to his sounds evolution. Mundotigre (2014) is an exceptional work of textured minimalism, and “Cavulcão #2”, specifically, is a transcendental fusion of sequencers, sharp samples and other highly fluid and consonant timbres. This one, part of an unreleased set of four tracks in which Takara attempts to explore all the possibilities of a cavaquinho, a traditional Brazilian instrument largely used in samba, basing almost all his sounds around the instrument.”
