"Kiddo Tant"

From the release Hy Brazil Vol. 8: New Experimental Music From Brazil

“Kiddo Tant” is taken from the latest volume of Hy Brazil, a seasonal compilation with tracks that have been emerging from the Brazilian electronic, experimental and avant-garde music scenes. Negro Leo has played alongside Chinese Cookie Poets at Glasgow’s Counterflows Festival and London’s Cafe Oto. Talking about Leo, Novas Frequências state: “Connecting deep influences from folkloric Brazilian music with the sonic experiments of New York’s no wave, his performances are always unique experiences without predefinition or orthodox stylistic template. Of course, in this return to the tradition of Hermeto Pascoal and Arrigo Barnabé, orthodoxy is what you are least desiring. To understand Leo, imagine stream of consciousness poetry fiercely yelled over this panorama of chaotic noises, intersected drums, nervous and indecisive basses and a guitar’s electric fuzz.”
