Born in 1960 in Oxford, where he still lives, Pat Thomas is a pianist, improvisor, composer and electronic musician. He performs and records solo, is a co-leader of the long standing groups Black Top (with Orphy Robinson) and [Ahmed], and plays in a wide variety of ad hoc settings with many of the leading figures in the worlds of avant garde jazz, improvised and experimental music, from Derek Bailey and Tony Oxley in the 1980s to more recent collaborators Tyshawn Sorey and Moor Mother.
