Zbigniew Chojnacki is an accordion/live electronics player and improvisor. The most important aspect of his work is its dialogue and encounters with other people. Inspired by elements that are not often directly related to music, he takes any form that emits a sound and uses it to make contact with people. As he explains: “An old washing machine, a blade of grass, the sound of the engine of the bus, or even a chair in the middle of a stage can be inspiring. Every concert is completely different. The only constant element is the instrument.’’

Pianist Ritvars Garoza is known for his original music and arrangements for big bands and string chamber ensembles, as well as electronic music and jazz. He is perhaps best known as a composer and keyboardist in the group Lupa, but he also participates in various experimental projects, the Woodpecker Project among them.

Ritvars Garoza joined SHAPE+ in April 2023 as part of Zbigniew Chojnacki’s residency in Riga. This track was created during that residency.
