During the second half of the 1990s, Yves De Mey’s recordings were rooted in breakbeat and UK drum ’n’ bass. But once he began working for theatre and dance performances, as well as undertaking large scale sound installations, he allowed his interest in experimental sound design to show through his music. De Mey also works with Peter Van Hoesen as Sendai, and together they run Archives Intérieures, a label for challenging and sophisticated electronic music.
