Edward Sol was born in 1974. He studied as a sound director/designer for films, TV and theatre. He has been active as a composer, musician and sound artist since 1991 and runs the Quasi Pop label.
In his work he explores the meta-linguistical possibilities of music and sounds, the issues of non-verbal communication, narrative potential, and transmitting the personal spiritual experience via sound and vibration. He works mostly with analogue technology: reel-to-reel machines, tape loops, vintage effects, handmade electronics, and old fashioned synthesizers. Some of his recent pieces have been created with computer tools though the main sources are still analogue. Stylistically, his music employs established electroacoustic and musique concrète techniques and methods of audio collage, often pushed towards the density and intensity of industrial noise.
His music has been issued in the US, UK, Europe, Russia and Ukraine by labels such as Quasi Pop, Sangoplazmo, Beartown, Banned Production, Chocolate Monk, Monochrome Vision, Full Of Nothing and others.
