Philadelphia based guitarist Nick Millevoi teams up with bass player Ed Ricart, saxophonist Travis Laplante and drummer Ches Smith in a quartet which succeeds where many free jazz/improvised music groups have failed before by generating a vibrant, energic and smart music from an old recipe. “Solarism” is perhaps their most violent track, an object lesson in how free improvised music should sound when played with authenticity and sincerity.
