Track 9

"By The Rails"
From Nightmare Ending
Nightmare Ending is the first Eluvium (aka Matthew Cooper) album since 2010’s Ambient pop record Similes. Nightmare Ending was intended as the follow-up to the watershed album Copia. Conceived as a way of helping loosen his self-imposed ideals of perfection, Cooper labelled each Nightmare Ending track as either a ‘dream’ or an ‘imperfection’. Then he shelved it, and pursued Similes instead. But it lingered in the back of his mind, and Cooper returned to it with renewed vigour, writing and recording over several years. The result is a body of work that encompasses everything distinctive about past Eluvium albums, executed more powerfully and poignantly than ever before.
