Dakota Suite have been together since 1996. The core duo of Chris Hooson and David Buxton specialise in cinematic, richly orchestrated songs of loss and sorrow, perfect for those lonely moments just before dawn. In recent years, they’ve turned their attentions to collaboration, joining forces with David Darling and, lately, Quentin Sirjacq, a Parisian pianist and composer who studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and played with Fred Frith.
