Cayos is an experimental electronic collaboration between two Miami natives, the New York based architect Daniel Laburu and US soldier Nick Reyes. Albums like Souk (2010) and Shell Beach (2011) make use of digital instruments, field recordings and heavily processed guitar in the service of music that has been described as “lush-looping ambience which could have been culled from Aphex Twin’s lost Selected Ambient Works”. Their new album Naranja is out later this year on Schematic Music Company.
