Aluk Todolo are an instrumental power trio from France who’ve been making occult rock since 2004. Their fourth album Voix (which translates as Voice or Voices) moves closer to their music’s primordial principles, which they describe as a methodical exploration of the powers of trance generated from howling guitar distortion, bass mantras and chanting drums. Aluk Todolo draw the lines of a multi-directional labyrinth on a constantly changing map, its secrets revealing themselves in the space between the notes and beats – where and when their voices can be heard.
