When he launched Lumen Lab in 2000, 15 year old Diego Martinez shook up a Mexican electronic scene steeped in dance and late rave culture with all the rhythmic noise and distortion he could muster on his drum machines and secondhand synthesizers. In 2004 Lumen Lab released their debut Comiendo Algodón En La Pista De Baile via Abolipop. In 2006 he started his avant hiphop side project Jack’s Son. Lumen Lab’s “Compa” is taken from their third album They Are Killing Us.
