Founded in 2010, Splitter Orchester are convened from a group of self-described ultra-specialised composer-performers dedicated to working outside conventional musical hierarchies. Drawing on a wide range of improvisational and compositional approaches, Splitter apply extended techniques to traditional, electronic and specially constructed/tailored instruments as a means to generate sound (as opposed to musical material) and diffuse it in space.
