In addition to collaborations with percussionist Steven Hess and artist Joseph Clayton Mills, and a series of cassettes he made under the pseudonym COIN, Chicago based musician and visual artist Michael Vallera released his first solo LP Distance via Opal Tapes in 2015. Vivid Flu is his second solo album, but his first on Denovali imprint. Here he pushes the electric guitar into new territory made up of a latticework of samples, piano and mechanical stutter.
