Pianist and composer Mark Springer is a founding member of Rip, Rig & Panic, the early 1980s UK post-punk jazz unit that also featured vocalist Neneh Cherry. Since going solo he has composed and performed chamber works for piano and strings, as well as a new opera. His forthcoming CD of solo live recordings is called Diving and it will be released by Exit in May.
