With a name meant to “evoke chaos and black mass”, Mess Noir is the experimental drone project of Swiss bassist Lionel Gafner, who in 2016 produced the limited edition cassette EP Vox Abysso (Vandalizm). Gafner has also performed with free improvisors (na)PALMT(h)REE, doom metal group The Ocean, jazz outfit Sha’s Feckel and dark ambient rockers The Fawn.
