Los Angeles based producer/composer Josiah Steinbrick’s “hyper-obsession with rhythm as sculpture began with the formation of his BANANA ensemble in 2014”. There followed a series of collaborations with Luis Pérez Ixoneztli, violinist Sudan Archives and Philadelphia free jazz fixture Elliott Levin, which preceded his first collection of solo works – a “nine-part exploration of concrete wilderness for percussion and electronics” titled Meeting Of Waters. Elsewhere he has produced and recorded with Cate Le Bon, Devendra Banhart, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Gruff Rhys, and more. Most recently he has been focusing on his pending duo release with polyphonic saxophonist Sam Gendel.
