Founded in 2011, Black String took their name from the traditional Korean geomungo instrument – translating as black crane zither – played by their leader Yoon Jeong Heo. Also featuring Aram Lee on daugeum and yanggeum, Jean Oh on jazz guitar and Min Wang Hwang on vocals and percussion, Black String have played the world’s festival circuit including 2012’s London Jazz Festival.
