Rotterdam based sound artist/sound designer and composer Radboud Mens bought his first drum machine in 1982 and started making noise machines in 1988. In the early 1990s he attached contact mics to the dog’s brushes he used to destroy vinyl records, boosting the signal through broken cassette decks and recording the results. Later that same decade he started using digital clicks and errors he collected during his stint as a sound engineer at the Centre of Electronic Music in Amsterdam. ~Sine was recorded in 1998 and was first released in 2000.
