The Kinshasa collective Kasai Allstars came together in the mid-2000s, formed by members of five bands from different ethnic groups with their own languages and musical traditions. Derived from ritual and trance musics, driven by electric guitars, traditional drums and distorted thumb pianos, the music on their fourth album Black Ants Fly Together... incorporates drum programming that complements their intricate rhythmic patterns.
