The Meyer brothers – Bernhard (bass) and Peter (guitar) – formed Melt Trio with drummer Moritz Baumgärtner in Berlin in 2010. With nods to Tortoise, Khruangbin, Philip Catherine and Marc Ribot, their take on jazz has been nominated three times for Germany’s Echo Jazz music prize. Since 2016’s Stroy, they have collaborated with Jan Bang on Instants, and the Meyers joined Jim Black and Wanja Slavin in Other Animal. Their fourth album Consumer is released this month.
