Reiko and Tori Kudo first collaborated more than 40 years ago as members of Tokyo post-punk outfit Worst Noise, later renamed Noise. With euphonium player Hiroo Nakazaki they formed the core trio of Maher Shalal Hash Baz, whose rotating cast of musicians introduce folk, psychedelia, avant-pop and free jazz alongside the element of chance. Originally released on CD by Hyotan in 2013, Tangerine is reissued on vinyl by Melbourne’s A Colourful Storm.
