Formed in 2017, Buenos Aires quartet Blanco Teta use punk rock energy to destabilise and collide genres. With lyrics tackling politics and transfeminism, their full-length debut Rompe Paga is fuelled by hyperpop maximalism, skate-thrash fury and the discordant sounds of Violeta Garcia’s amplified cello, while Josefina Barreix’s vocals veer from glitchy Auto-Tune to frenetic Melt Banana-esque squeals.
