As well as composing albums fronting 1980s group The Shrubs (as Nick Hobbs) and with Mecca, Infidel, Galen Sadko, Eis Ten Polin and Raining Spiderlings, Nikolai Galen has recorded numerous improvised works, both solo and as part of Black Paintings, Hoca Nasreddin, Sleeping Beauty and Noise Of Shade. Now based in Istanbul, his releases also include Songs Of The Low Lands, featuring a cappella recordings of his own translations of Jacques Brel songs.
