Powders
"Miley Tunnel"
From Concede To Circumstance
Comprising Josh Horsley’s cello and Carl Brown’s electronics, Powders have spent the past five years of improvised live shows, film scores and jams evolving from sample-heavy collages to a more minimalist blend of classical and noise. Their debut album Concede To Circumstance strips the sound back further, using granular synthesis to create shimmering cello textures. The context is drenched, darkened and distinctly Northern, with “Miley Tunnel” taking its name from a disused rail tunnel in their hometown of Preston.
