Over the last 18 years the music of Brighton’s The Pheromoans has evolved from garage rock primitivism to a more idiosyncratic sound featuring world-weary rock and loose electronics. Delivered through the wryly understated yet unsparing vocals of frontman Russell Walker, their songs are observational and capricious, combining droll humour, pathos and unreliable narration. In March they released their 13th album Wyrd Psearch.
